Version 0.23+14.04.20140422-0ubuntu1 of webapp-container fixed the issue
with hyperlinks. However the problem with selecting text still exists.

  Openinig hyperlinks or selecting text in emails doesn't work

Status in “unity-webapps-gmail” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  1) Ubuntu version: 14.04
  2) Package version: 2.4.16+14.04.20140409-0ubuntu1 
  3) Selecting/highliting text with click-and-drag doesn't work, context menu doesn't appear, opening hyperlinks doesn't work. Selecting text is possible only by double-clicking a word and expanding the selection with Shift+arrows.
