I've got a Hauppage video card. I didn't think Ubuntu was even aware of
it. I don't use it with Ubuntu ( yet anyway, as I struggle to get basic
OpenGL graphics working ). Any hints on how to check status of cx18 (??)
and disable it to see if it makes any difference.

I can resend logs, etc. but have posted examples of the xstart fails a
couple times previously and current fails are the same.
