[Bug 368642] Re: [i915GM] Random laptop lockup after upgrade to 9.04
Is it helpful for me to say "me too"? I'm on an IBM Thinkpad X60s. Not
running a 915 chipset though:
% lspci -nn|grep VGA
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:27a2] (rev 03)
Hangs once every few days, usually when nothing special is going on (not
starting a new program, suspending or coming out of suspend, etc. --
just typing along or sitting there). I just read this bug report, so
I've just installed sshd and will give it a try next time it locks up.
I concur that it seems X-related since some of the hotkeys on the
keyboard still seem to work (i.e. the disk LED comes on momentarily when
I hit them, even after the system has "locked up"). Nothing except 4
seconds on the power button works once it's locked up.
