I can confirm the bug on my ASUS pro55 (ATI HD3470 512MB video)
I can also confirm that patching xorg-server fixed the issue for me (since I'm not using composite and such stuff I don't care in particular what else happens)

I'm also attaching lspci --vvnn's output..
