** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-nv

I had a fully functional Ubuntu 8.10 installation on my PowerMac G5 4x2,5 GHz with a Nvidia Quadro FX 4500 (driver nv).
- I upgraded to the 9.04 version with the update manager. When the computer rebooted after the upgrade, I ended with Xorg in bulletproof mode.
- (cf. the Xorg.0.nv-driver.log). The Xorg log showed an error message about MMIO space not found and screen not found (same DVI monitor than in 8.10).
+ I upgraded to the 9.04 version with the update manager. When the computer rebooted after the upgrade, I ended with Xorg in bulletproof mode (cf. the Xorg.0.nv-driver.log). The Xorg log showed an error message about "No valid MMIO address in PCI config space" and screen not found (same DVI monitor than in 8.10).
I tried the nouveau driver in case of luck, but unfortunately I had another error.

I made a final try by using the alternate 9.04 cd to format an re-
install in case of an error whole upgrading. But the error stays.

I have tried to hardcode the driver and force to ignore the EDID but the
- error stay the same. Bulletproof mode with funky colors hardly readable.
- I usualy use the option login in console mode and try to fix the conf. I
- am now posting this bug from the command line (lynx is the best friend
- of unlucky admins ^.^).

After trying to find on the ubuntuforums.org and by googling without
- success, I tried to fill-in a bug.
+ success, I now to fill-in a bug.
