[Bug 379805] Re: virtual >2048 in xorg.conf causes blank white screen on login

 

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. I have a few questions for you that should help us understand your problem better. 
1. Is it the external monitor, the laptop monitor or both that go white?
2. With which desktop environment does this happen? (kde, gnome, xfce, etc...) Does it happen with other desktop environment as well?
3. Does the problem occur irrespective of whether you have the external monitor connected?
4. Why do you use the option "UseFBdev"? The log file says that it is ignored.
5. What computer model do you have?
6. Could you test if it is still a problem with the newer drivers (2.7.1) available from https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat/+archive/x-updates/ ? There are quite a few bug fixes in that version, and we don't want to upstream bugs to the intel developers that they have already fixed.
