Message #03518
[Bug 295380] [NEW] volume control keyboard shortcuts no longer mapped after 8.04->8.10 upgrade (must manually reset via keyboard shortcuts preferences)
You have been subscribed to a public bug:
After upgrading my Asus U6 laptop from 8.04 to 8.10, the volume control
keyboard shortcuts no longer worked.
To fix the problem I had to open the Keyboard Shortcuts preferences and add new shortcuts for Volume Mute, Down, Up to Fn-F10, Fn-F11 and Fn-F12, respectively. The shortcuts now appear as XF86AudioMute/LowerVolume/RaiseVolume...
Previously the shorcuts had appeared in code, such as 0xab or something... although I do not recall the exact codes.
** Affects: xserver-xorg-input-keyboard (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
