[Bug 379805] Re: [i945gm] virtual >2048 in xorg.conf causes blank white screen on login

Good to hear that switching to UXA solved the problem. We couldn't
enable this by default on Jaunty because of quite a few other problems
on some hardware (see ), but it is a useful workaround for many. The
non-UXA (i.e. EXA and XXA) has been deleted from the newer versions of
the driver, so there is not really a bug to be fixed upstream. Ubuntu
will also use UXA in future releases, so this bug should not be a
problem. Since it is unlikely that we will find the bug in the EXA code,
the most appropriate is probably to close this bug as "Fix Released"
(I'll update the title to reflect that UXA is needed).

** Summary changed:

- [i945gm] virtual >2048 in xorg.conf causes blank white screen on login
+ [i945gm] virtual >2048 in xorg.conf causes blank white screen on login (needs UXA)

** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu)
       Status: Incomplete => Fix Released
