[Bug 384730] Re: [i945GM] screen goes black about once per day after upgrading to latest intel drivers

It is good that running 2.7.1 without UXA seems to be a useful
workaround. The bug is still there in the UXA code and since that is
what is going to be used for future releases, it would be nice if we
could get to the bottom of this. It would be great if you could check if
the bug is present in Karmic. You may use the alpha-2 LiveCD for if you
want, which is available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/9.10/ .
I realize that since this bug take some time to manifest itself, it may
a bit much to ask that you use Karmic for your daily work, but maybe you
could leave it on overnight to check if the monitor goes black (and hope
that it is not only some kind of activity that triggers it). You know
your own constraints best, but it would be nice if we could make sure
this does not happen in the release of Karmic.
