Not having much luck with the back trace ssh.

Loaded in the wiki/,,,,/backtracing, got it running, was logged in from
ssh, did a startx.

This time the desktop started to load then stopped with "User Switcher" has quit unexpectedly.
Mouse doesn't work
Keyboard doesn't work
ssh no response to any commands.
Ctrl-C and the test system display woke up with (gdb) prompt
(gdb) backtrace all 
No stack

I didn't know what to do at that point.  Ctrll C
then tried saving Xorg.0.log.  If it's there will attach in subsequent comment.
