[Bug 385497] Re: PPA version 2:2.7.1-0ubuntu1~xup~1 doesn't let me suspend

So for an unknown reason neither my mail to 385497@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
(message-id: <alpine.DEB.2.00.0906111037410.4012@tpo-laptop>,
date: "Sun, 14 Jun 2009 14:43:59 +0200 (CEST)") nor my mail to Geir
with Cc: to launchpad (message-id: <sNFPQjjj.1244741902.0675030.tpo@mail>,
date: Thu, "11 Jun 2009 17:38:22 +0000") made it onto this page.

And I got no error message from launchpad either.

Thus I'm trying once again, directly to launchpad:

When I do Ctrl+Alt+F1, it takes a few seconds and then I'm back in the
graphical Ubuntu login (i.e. restart of the X session as far as I can
tell).

Doing a CTRL-Alt-F7 will send the laptop to nirvana (or hell - don't know, can't tell). That means a black screen, doing whatever on the keyboard (changing to some other random virtual terminal,
ctrl-alt-del or backspace) don't seem to have any effect. I have not tried to connect over IP. The only thing I can do is power down.

Attached you'll find Xorg.0.log, kern.log and lspci -vvnn.

The kern.log is completely empty. I.e. I did CTRL-Alt-F1 at about
08:50:00

syslog has something interesting:

Since I don't know what exactly apport will send to whom visible by
whom, I've attached the relevant files.

Please let me know if I can do anything more, or if there's some xorg-
intel packages I should test.

Thanks,
