Re: [Bug 388018] Re: [jaunty] back to log screen after entering password

Well I'm sorry,

I found it was due to the enabling of the "clean startup" service from the kubuntu control panel.
this one seems to act as if it was cleaning sorts of sockets created before by ksmserver and consequently, this latter
can't find its own track and fell in some kind of login loop.

everything's ok after disabling it !

Status in “xserver-xorg-video-ati” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed

Bug description:
Binary package hint: xorg

Current Operating System: Linux xxx 2.6.28-11-generic #42-Ubuntu SMP Fri
Apr 17 01:57:59 UTC 2009 i686

Well I come back from holidays, and I would like to turn on my laptop,
then comes the log screen from kubuntu jaunty and here I stay
because when I enter my passwd, something occurs and then comes back to the log screen !!

here is my dmesg, it looks like it's linked to a mtrr problem (see between 40 and 50) :
I'll leave attached dmesg, /var/log/Xorg log as well as the lspci -vvnn results!

Please help so I can log in !
