Message #08667
[Bug 386740] Re: [K8M800] mouse pointer corruptly displayed at the bottom of the X screen
I tried to unload the "via" and "drm" kernel modules and renamed them in
order they cannot be loaded again:
# /etc/init.d/gdm stop
# rmmod via
# rmmod drm
# mv /lib/modules/2.6.28-11-generic/kernel/drivers/gpu/drm/via/via.ko /lib/modules/2.6.28-11-generic/kernel/drivers/gpu/drm/via/via.ko.orig
# mv /lib/modules/2.6.28-11-generic/kernel/drivers/gpu/drm/drm.ko /lib/modules/2.6.28-11-generic/kernel/drivers/gpu/drm/drm.ko.orig
# X -verbose 10
Result: when the external monitor is connected then the system is
running. When I disconnect the external monitor and start X then the
system freezes. I attach the log when the system freees.
