[Bug 391413] Re: [karmic]kernel 2.6.30-10-generic breaks suspend with video-intel 2.7*
Can you test it on a karmic livecd to see if the problem persists
Stefan? If the problem persists on the kubuntu karmic livecd then you
should create another bug regarding it, perhaps we might be able to
figure out why it is happening and I can look into including a fix in
edgers for jaunty. Please subscribe me to the bug if you do that so I
dont miss it :)
But with the setup of KMS/2.6.30 on jaunty there are way too many
variables that could be unaccounted for. Under no circumstances would I
recommend KMS/UXA on jaunty though, everything should _just work_ as
intended if you stick with EXA and 2.7.1 and on my machines that setup
is quite a deal faster than UXA plus the bug fixes in later drivers are
geared towards UXA usage for the most part. I don't doubt that you are
just running into a userland issue considering how major the
infrastructure changes are in karmic, and I'm not familiar with KDE
power management so I don't know where the settings are to alter which
backend the power management daemons there choose.
Bart: About dpms support, try editing /usr/share/acpi-
support/screenblank and comment out line 10. This fixed dpms support for
two people using KDE on jaunty that i've spoken with.
#xset dpms force off
