I think the screen flickering issues are unrelated to the initial bug
report - and should be in the

I believe the upstream bug for the original is :
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=29278

which is completely non-working eDP panel (sometimes with hard locks on
inserting the i915 module with modeset=1)
