Installing xserver-xorg-core and xserver-common from maverick-proposed
resolved this issue for me.

x86_64
Four monitors, two rotated, Xinerama.

xorg 1:7.5+6ubuntu3
xserver-common 2:1.9.0-0ubuntu7.1
xserver-xorg 1:7.5+6ubuntu3
xserver-xorg-core 2:1.9.0-0ubuntu7.1
