[Bug 682143] Re: Nvidia settings doesn't allow to set clock frequencies even if coolbits = 1

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: nvidia-settings

I enabled coolbits in Xorg.conf (attached) then I started nvidia
settings, enabled overclocking but after changing the sliders and click
apply they reset to original position and nvidia settings sets the
  default values.

  I tried the command line:
  sudo nvidia-settings --assign GPU3DClockFreqs=160,125

    Attribute 'GPU3DClockFreqs' (kenzy-laptop:0.0) assigned value 160,125.

  After that:
  sudo nvidia-settings --query GPU3DClockFreqs

    Attribute 'GPU3DClockFreqs' (kenzy-laptop:0.0): 640,500.
      The valid values for 'GPU3DClockFreqs' are in the ranges 160 - 1280, 125 -
      1416 (inclusive).
'GPU3DClockFreqs' can use the following target types: X Screen, GPU.

Don't know if it's related to the driver or nvidia-settings. I even
tried to upgrade my nvidia-settings to latest version, same problem.

Neither Xorg log nor dmesg report something about nvidia driver that
  seems related to this problem.

With lucid everythings works okay. Also found another user with the same problem:
  http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=10113085

  Everything worked okay in lucid.

- EDIT: I am using nvidia-current binary driver (260.19.06-0ubuntu1)
+ EDIT: I am using nvidia-current binary driver (260.19.06-0ubuntu1) my
+ graphic card is a G105M
