[Bug 682986] Re: borders and panels disappears whenever appearance is changed
Well, yeah when you switch between different window managers, the new
window manager has to recreate all the window decorations. That's why
the borders and buttons disappear. The panel is part of the window
manager too, so when switching WM's that'll disappear too. So, so far
it isn't sounding like an X issue actually.
Maybe it would help if you write down the exact steps you do to
reproduce the issue, and indicate expected / actual results.
