The problem being seen in this bug report is limited to specific
hardware with touchpads with height/width ratios significantly different
from the monitor, which seems to be a pretty rare situation.  That patch
disables scaling behavior across the board, which would cause
undesirable change in functionality for the vast many touchpads that
*are* working correctly.
