I second Matt...but with a few differences.
I am running Linux lrc-laptop 2.6.32-26-generic #48-Ubuntu SMP Wed Nov 24 09:00:03 UTC 2010 i686 GNU/Linux
Lenovo thinkpad sl410, with an intel graphics card.

After a few suspends, /usr/bin/X :0 vt7 -nr -nolisten tcp -auth
/var/run/xauth/A:0-26HBac  will begin to just eat up my memory, bringing
my computer to a standstill in the end and forcing a reboot.
