[Bug 681555] Re: External monitor not recognized with Nvidia 320M using a mini display-port to VGA Apple adapter
I am experiencing the same behavior. To this excellent documentation I
will only be able to add the observation that the system "pause" happens
when running xrandr as well, and the proposed fix does not work for me
on Kubuntu 10.10, as I am experiencing another, catastrophic bug using
the binary driver (the whole video system crashes to blank screens after
an indeterminate amount of time, requiring a reboot to clear. Possibly
related to a few other bugs being reported re: Qt and the binary
driver).
In short, as of right now there is no good way to attach an external
monitor on my system (Macbook Pro 13", 7,1).
I am following this bug and will be happy to test proposed solutions.
