[Bug 397420] [NEW] jaunty, xserver crash on startup, toshiba tecra m1

You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I use a Toshiba Tecra M1 with Trident Cyber Blade XP4m32, Kubuntu 9.04.
The raw installation only permitted a 800*600 low-graphics mode, so I copied my old xorg.conf (Dapper) into the /etx/X11 directory. The file is attached.
Now I've got the 1024*768 resolution but often the xserver doesn't start correctly on boot. It appears "Ubuntu is running in low-graphics mode. ..." - and sometimes even this message looks weired, cut into pieces (vertical stripes in disorder).
When I choose "OK" and then "console login" sometimes the xserver starts correctly (the stripes don't disappear).
I thought it was only a matter of the buggy trident-driver so I put the vesa one. But nothing changed (Well, the acpi/monitor brightness/whatever-bug of the trident driver disappeared with the vesa driver).
I put as attachment the xorg.conf, the xfailsafe and the lspci -vvnn output
Thank you all for help.
