- Hi! I installed Ubuntu 10.10 fresh install, directly after ive installed

  After a while the screen with the "save your ecncrytped passphrase key"
  screen appeared.
  
  Then after that nothing happens. No menues, no desktop, nothing. Only
  the screen background if i dont remember wrong.

- Tried to reboot, this time I get to the login screen. Did login, after the login, it begins loading, then a short black screen (just a flash less than a second), then Ive put back to the login screen.

  Then Ive rebooted, loaded the second alternative (failsafe mode? on the
  grub screen) - choosed to update all packages and repair them. Rebooted,
  still the same problem. Cannot log in to desktop, nothing happens after
  the login screen.
  
  Rebooted once again, logged in to failsafe X from the second option on
  the grub menu. Did some searching. Read about uninstalling the "compiz"
  package with the command:
  
  "dpkg -r compiz"
  
  Did that. Now it works to log in. But I think it isnt nescesary to do
  all this just to log in to desktop and START using ubuntu!
