[Bug 665233] Re: Ubuntu Maverick with ATI RADEON screen corruption
Ok, it wasn't the new AMD ATI Drivers what "seemed" to solve the
problem, which is still present.
This is what I just did:
I've removed all packages fglrx, xserver-xorg-video-ati and xserver-
xorg-video-radeon.
I reinstalled xserver-xorg-video-ati and the mesa libraries.
I deleted the xorg.conf.
$ sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg-video-ati
when I rebooted, the laptop screen (I have dual monitor, with a samsung
lcd monitor too) wasn't flickering anymore, but the LCD screen wasn't in
the correct resolution. Then I set up the monitors resolution, the
system asked me to logout and the flickering was back.
So I installed the fglrx packages again:
$ sudo apt-get install fglrx*
When I rebooted, the flickering was still present. Then I wrote:
$ sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg-core
And when I rebooted the flickering was gone, but... "Desktop Effects
can't be enabled".
What can I do?
