Message #114093
[Bug 560433] Re: [clarkdale] Xorg freeze
I have seen this bug several times on a brand new Core i3 540 HP system.
I see messages like these in the dmesg log:
[239983.083606] [drm:i915_hangcheck_elapsed] *ERROR* Hangcheck timer elapsed... GPU hung
[239983.083616] render error detected, EIR: 0x00000000
[239983.083639] [drm:i915_do_wait_request] *ERROR* i915_do_wait_request returns -5 (awaiting 64239677 at 64239676)
When the GPU "hangs" I can still CTRL-ALT-F1 and login. Sometimes a
simple service gdm restart is enough to get me back to work, sometimes I
have to hard-reset the machine.
DIM data about the machine follows:
Handle 0x0001, DMI type 1, 27 bytes
