[Bug 386706] Re: External USB Mouse not working properly with Jaunty Jackalope

I have exactly the same problem.
After upgrading to ubuntu 9.04 my usb mouse stopped working with laptop.
Mouse: A4Tech OPTO 518
Laptop: Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo Pro v3515 / Toshiba Satellite A300
Symptom:
after plugin the mouse I can do only one button click and then the pointer moves as expected, but buttons doesn't work. To be more precise, it seems that the focus is frozen on a clicked element and clicking on other elements doesn't work.
Temporary solution:
Restarting gnome with ctrl+alt+BackSpace solves the problem. Another solution is to right click on the element with frozen focus and then you could perform (again one) click on different element.
Data asked in the poster above is included in attachments. The bug is really annoying
