[Bug 709896] Re: Lenovo X200s: wrong screen size -> wrong DPI

 

It looks like X is figuring out the correct values, but these days on
-intel modesetting is done by the kernel.  The kernel establishes the
initial mode, dpi settings, detects monitor resolution, and so on, and X
does not tinker with them anymore.

However, X does expose the kernel functionality to userspace so config
tools can update or change the settings.  So it could be possible KDE is
doing something to force 96 dpi or something.  But I'm not familiar
enough with KDE to guess.

So, I'll bump it over to the kernel to look at.
