I can't seem to find any errors in when flickering (i tried switching tty and catting that file)
/sys/kernel/debug/dri/0/i915_error_state 

It's probably not gpu lockup because I was able to move mouse and see
cursor move.

I attach dmesg output and syslog output after switching screens and
restarting gdm.
