[Bug 769018] [NEW] healthy USB mouse stops working in ubuntu

You have been subscribed to a public bug:

running Ubuntu 10.10 on an Asus Eee PC 1015PED

simply: the mouse i am using works 100% of the time in windows, BUT in
ubuntu it occasionally ceases normal function and i cant click on
anything, i can move the cursor around but i cant click on anything.
there seems to be no trigger for it, it just suddenly stops working, to
work around it i have to unplug it click something with the built in
touchpad then plug in and resume normal use of my mouse, its very
inconvenient.

sometimes i think the mouse is buggin out like this, but in some cases
it is just because its trying to select some text. but the text
selection thing is a whole other issue.

** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
