[Bug 695149] Re: Right-click menus don't disappear

** Description changed:

Sometimes, exiting out of a right-click/menu-bar menu doesn't actually
close the menu. Sometimes, the actual menu options remain, while other
times they are replaced by an empty black box. Launching any new menus
over the previous one causes them to "stamp" themselves onto the old
  menu area.

This happens for "File menu" and similar, as well for context menus (see
attached screenshot). Opening up the same menu again once or twice fixes
the problem. In the case of the panel issue, I can't find the menu again
so I can't make the overlay go away. Clicking on it just clicks on the
application under it, and locking/unlocking the screen only "stamps"
  pure black onto the menu.
