Message #122846
[Bug 461163] Re: Gnome Freezes -- Ubuntu 9.10 -- big time freezes.
This bug report hasn't been updated in about a year, apart from spam.
The issue is basically a GPU lockup. GPU lockups can occur from a
variety of different underlying bugs, and the symptoms by and large all
appear identical, so the me-too's on this bug could quite possibly have
completely unrelated problems.
The good news is that we've put a considerable amount of time
investigating GPU lockups in natty. Some have been solved, others are
much better understood. We also have much, much better tools for
reporting and analyzing them; this bug lacks the logs and error files we
require to diagnose the problems, so is not actionable.
I'm closing out this bug report for the above reasons. If you still
have gpu lockups with natty please file a new bug report.
