[Bug 774532] Re: Can't get bigger resolution than 1280x800 on external monitor

 

It's because you have your laptop monitor still enabled in your
configuration, and since the default is to clone you are limited to the
max common resolution both monitors support, which is 1280x800.
Configure your system to disable the busted monitor.
