[Bug 755841] Re: [sandybridge] video tearing

I too am experiencing High Definition video tearing with my Intel
sandybridge CPU/GPU processors. Most of the time the tearing occurs on
the upper third of the screen.

This problem occurs on both an Intel i7-2600K and on an Intel i5-2500K.
Both of these chips feature Intel High Definition Graphics 3000. The
problem is prevalent at a resolution of 1920x1080, but can also be seen
at 1680x1050.

I have tried Kubuntu Natty Narwhal 11.04 with the latest xserver-xorg-
video-intel driver package (2:2.15.0+git20110513.9d6e02al-
0ubuntu0sarvatt) but the problem persists.

I have tried VLC, DragonPlayer, MPlayer, and MythTV, but all display the
video tearing problem.

This problem is very frustrating when trying to watch HDTV shows with
MythTV.

If more information is needed to diagnose and troubleshoot this problem
then I would be more than happy to help.
