Message #129577
[Bug 784227] [NEW] Closing lid renders X unusable
You have been subscribed to a public bug:
Binary package hint: evince
When I close the lid on my thinkpad t420s and reopen it, I can't use X.
I can still move the mouse about but everything behind it remains
static. If I leave it long enough to go into a screensaver then I just
see the contents of the screen from before the screensaver went on. I
can see a text editing cursor over the bit where I'd type my password.
If there are buttons on the screen then I can click them but there are
no visible changes, but they have an effect. For instance I can stop and
resume music this way.
When I put the laptop to sleep and bring it back again the screen has a
black background, unless it's in one of the tty sessions, in which case
it shows that when I go back to X.
