[Bug 771788] Re: nVidia driver activated and apparently being used but reported as not being used by jockey-gtk

You must be new here. He's not marking the entire bug as invalid. A bug
can affect multiple things, and this bug has been marked as affecting
several things. However, sometimes some of the things aren't really
aspects of the bug, and should be marked as invalid, while other aspects
will be worked on.

For instance, suppose you have a bug "System crashes after 30 seconds".
You can mark that it affects the linux kernel, the time module, and
xorg. However, after testing, we find out that xorg is perfectly fine,
as is the time module, and the real culprit is the latest linux kernel.
In this case, we'd mark the xorg and time module bugs as invalid, and
the linux kernel as confirmed. What you're seeing is just a technicality
of launchpad - in that instance, everyone on the "System crashes" bug's
mailing list would get a message saying "Changed in xorg: status: new ->
Invalid". This doesn't mean the bug itself is invalid, just that it
doesn't actually affect xorg after all.

Likewise, if you took a look at the systems that this bug affects, you
will see that it is currently Confirmed for Jockey and In Progress for
jockey (Ubuntu), while it does not affect (and is thus marked invalid
for) the NVidia Drivers.

tl;dr: The bug isn't invalid, he's just marking that it doesn't affect
NVidia Drivers, but it's still a problem for Jockey, which is still
marked as Confirmed/In Progress - so don't panic.
