[Bug 633914] [NEW] "Error activating XKB configuration" when changing keyboard model
You have been subscribed to a public bug:
xorg 1:7.5+6ubuntu3, Ubuntu Maverick
When changing keyboard layout from "Apple Laptop" to "MacBook/MacBook
Pro", this error appeared: "Error activating XKB configuration ... X
server version data: The X.org Foundation 10900000..."
The error alert asks for "The result of xprop-root | grep XKB". The
result is "xprop-root: command not found". (apt-get has never heard of
xprop-root, either.)
The error alert also asks for "The result of gconftool-2 -R
/desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/kbd".
11:29:15@~> gconftool-2 -R /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/kbd
layouts = [us mac,us,af]
options = [grp grp:alts_toggle,compose compose:ralt,Compose key compose:ralt,caps caps:backspace]
model = macbook78
