[Bug 784806] [NEW] nvidia 3d experimental driver does not suspend
You have been subscribed to a public bug:
I had been using the nvidia 3D experimental driver for a while, and with
it I was able to utilize the graphic card acceleration. However,
recently I noticed that that driver was causing my computer not to
properly go into suspend mode. If I close the lid or if I press the
suspend button, the fan would start spinning at 100%, the Ubuntu startup
logo would appear on the screen, and the computer would become unusable.
Then I am forced to press the power button.
(I think this problem also occurs when there isn't any additional driver
installed, but I am not certain about that on this version (11.04) of
Ubuntu. )
I installed the proprietary nvidia driver and now I am properly able to
go into suspend mode.
** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
