[Bug 775639] [NEW] Desktop background does not draw when set to solid color
You have been subscribed to a public bug:
Binary package hint: nautilus
After upgrading to Natty my background did not draw. Windows and dialogs
left trails where the background should be drawn. I saw this in both
Unity and Gnome Desktop. I changed from a solid color background to a
gradient and an image and both of those worked fine. I put it back to
solid color and had the problem again.
I experimented more and found out that it only happened with the
combination of two settings:
Solid Color background chosen in Appearance control panel AND
gconf: apps/nautilus/preferences/show_desktop set to false.
I prefer to hide by desktop icons, and I achieve this by using the gconf
setting above. I am reporting this to Nautilus because the show_desktop
setting is in nautilus.
This worked fine in Maverick before upgrading to Natty.
I have an NVIDIA video card using the proprietary driver.
