According to my research (but I may be wrong, I am not an expert), the
patch in not in Karmic Koala either. In current karmic koala, the
package xserver-xorg-core is version 1.6.1.901, and when I look at the
source packages :

ubuntu/pool/main/x/xorg-server/xorg-server_1.6.1.901.orig.tar.gz
ubuntu/pool/main/x/xorg-server/xorg-server_1.6.1.901-2ubuntu2.diff.gz

and I check the source code of xkb/xkb.c, I see that the fix
(https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=26038) is not present.

Could it be possible to apply this small patch (5 lines of changes) in
Karmic Koala at least ? I am using Karmic Koala and I would be able to
give some feedback.
