[Bug 661248] Re: Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT doesn't work with nvidia-current 260
Same issue with geforce 8600M GS in my Benq S41-R32 laptop.
Currently using modified 10.04 LTS (mint 9).
Tried fresh 10.10, 11.04 ubuntu installations, tried kernels >2.6.32 (35,36,37,38 from
deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu lucid-backports main universe multiverse restricted
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kernel-ppa/ppa/ubuntu lucid main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/kernel-ppa/ppa/ubuntu lucid main)
Got black screen, 'in this system is not supported' error in logs.
All works fine with kernels <=2.6.32;
lspci | grep 8600M:
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation G86 [GeForce 8600M GS] (rev a1)
