[Bug 803094] [NEW] bizarre colors on hdmi for Toshiba 42hp95
You have been subscribed to a public bug:
After much fiddling using randr -a and plugging in hdmi after boot up I
am able to see Ubuntu desktop on hdmi output to Toshida 42hp95, but
comes with bizarre overlaying purple or green color. I have installed
in XP on the same system and the hdmi functions for both display and
bootup from install disc. If I try to bootup on Ubuntu using hdmi only,
I get text display for a few lines, then a continual gfxboot error that
goes in an infinite loop. Typing help or escape does not seem to help.
I am using a 2500 core i5 processor on an Asus P8H67-M evo board with
the latest bios which I just updated. I think other folks had problems
with display of odd colors which apparently occurred with newer versions
of the linux kernal. I am wondering it this will be fixed in upcoming
releases, and would be interested in notification if this is under
consideration or possible.
I am using Ubuntu 11.04 Kernal 2.6.38-8-generic and Gnome 2.32.1
