Apply it after the patches already included in the ubuntu package:

apt-get build-dep xserver-xorg-input-evdev
apt-get source xserver-xorg-input-evdev --compile
cd xserver-xorg-input-evdev-2.6.0
patch -p1 < xserver-xorg-input-evdev-2.6.0-jarfil_20110723a.patch
cd build
make
