[Bug 738789] Re: Ubuntu won't finish boot after nVidia proprietary driver install
I have a similar problem.
After upgrading my ubuntu 11.04 to kernel 2.6.38-10, the nvidia-current driver stopped working.
I upgraded my system with the normal software updates. I had to remove the driver (with jockey, over ssh) to get my display back. Before that I could not even get into a tty - just a black screen.
