[Bug 745608] Re: [915GM] font corruption on Intel GMA900
I strongly believe that the big average of the users who are having this
same problem are unable to find this page (since the issue is hard to
explain) and are thus unable to workaround the issue. I myself have
spent 2 days searching - which speaks for itself, doesn't it?
So even if the package maintainers only decide to automatically activate
DebugWait on these cards by default it would be a great improvement that
would solve all future problems. There should be enough code already
present in the automatic configuration detection logic of Xorg to add
this small check with a few lines of code. Though, I'm not a package
maintainer nore do I know how it works. Thus my estimates are surely not
the best.
All summed up: just hack it so that it works for the masses. Nobody who
got a intel GMA900 chipset cares for performance anyway, which means
nobody would ever complain anymore.
