[Bug 550625] Re: Alps touchpad is recognized but synaptics clients and scrolling do not work
A new version of the psmouse-dkms package is available at:
http://people.canonical.com/~sforshee/alps-touchpad/psmouse-alps-0.6
/psmouse-alps-dkms_0.6_all.deb
Changes since version 0.3 (since the intermediate builds were just for
collecting debug information):
* Add a reset of the touchpad prior to initialization
* Minor improvements to v3 packet type detection
* Improvements to v3 multitouch data in some corner cases
Please give it a try and let me know how it works!
Hemanti, please verify that your device continues working across resets.
César, there's a chance that the packet type detection improvements
could fix your stray click issues. Probably it won't, but there's a
chance. I found a case where it's theoretically possible for one type of
packet to be processed as though it were a different type of packet, but
it's a situation I've never seen on any hardware I'm testing with.
