Hi Steffen,
I would like to do that, but I'm not completely sure how.
I tried the steps outlined here (

Unfortunately this means that I get NO picture at all... I then have to boot
into recovery mode and reverse all the changes.
I did purge the old packages before though.
I also tried to replace the xorg.conf with the one created during install
(as you say: 'so that all the xorg stuff is right'). This also had no effect
: blank screen!
