Hi,
On Ubuntu 11.10, the problem is almost the same. 
The only difference is that now Unity 3D works with the vesa driver. Great thing !
Nevertheless the resolution is still incorrect and the screen is still "unknown".

I'm still forced to use Ubuntu 10.04 ! :)
