When the screen saver kicks in, when I attempt to unlock the screen, I
don't get an unlock dialog, just a white screen.

I have found a work-around - close the lid so the laptop goes into
suspend-to-RAM mode, then open it.  Then I get an unlock screen and I
can use the machine.

Last night I installed oneiric and updated all packages.  
I left the machine alone for awhile and the screen saver kicked in, blanking the screen.  
When I tapped a key, the screen turned back on but displayed an all-white screen instead of an unlock prompt.

Nothing seemed to affect the white screen.
I tried assuming that the unlock dialog was there but not visible and typed my password.  No effect.
I tried Ctl-Alt-F1 to get a console window, no effect.
I had not yet installed openssh-server, so I couldn't try sshing into the machine.
I ended up hard-booting the machine.

A little while later the same thing happened, this time I hadn't been doing anything
in particular with the machine.  I had just booted it up, opened a couple of terminals
and a few firefox windows.

I tried the above again, but no effect.  Then I thought of suspending
and resuming, to see if that fixed the problem. It did.

My machine is a thinkpad t520 with optimus graphics;  nvidia graphics
and on-board intel graphics.  I set the BIOS to always use the intel
graphics under my old install (Lucid) so it should still be set to that.
