Me too, unity 3d is almost unusable with newest 270, 280, 290... nvidia
drivers with this card, you have to use older drivers 170 and they eat
all my CPU. I went back to 10.04 frustrated and with no effects at all
:-P

This bug still exists. Ubuntu 11.10 with Unity is 100% unusable on my
computer with the latest Nvidia driver and the 6150SE nForce 430. GNOME
Shell and KDE work fine, all effects enabled.
