sorry for not getting back to you. i switched from Ubuntu 11.10 to widnows 7 for functionality issues. i determined that the starter NVIDIA graphics drivers are either invalid, or incorrect (The ones that are preconfigured during install) i suggest you have some of your team spend time developing drivers that support UNITY (2?) or allow GNOME to be used as a default. i would be happy to help code on my free time (still a grade 12 student) if needed
